What a top top day !!! only let down by the strength of the wind :( With the forecast looking good with wsw winds 20 to 30 kts Levington was the only local place to go. Mag and I we at the marina by ten having our breakfast watching lots of yachts in the river which was still very low as the tide had only just changed but it was a beautiful sunny and a balmy 9 degrees :) The wind was light but I still rigged 8.5 for the longboard hoping for the wind to fill-in. As Mag set off on her bike to ride back to Felixstowe I headed out the narrow marina entrance and headed for Felixstowe to check the name of the huge container ship at the end of the dock to see if it was one of Mags as she is working as A temp in a shipping office exporting containers and there me thinking we don't export anything anyone but it's mostly strap metal and rubbish :( but it wasn't one of hers. I did this trip 4 times including the best run when I followed a motor launch surfing it's swell for ages - top fun and entertained the people on the boat - it was the Avitar :) I then headed over to check out the ships moored at Harwich sailing back past Shotley before heading back to the van for a sandwich after well over two hours non-stop. Steve Carter was there with his new camera but it was not windy enough for a short board so he didn't bother sailing. The wind seemed to have filled in so I had high hopes of breaking 20 kts but it wasn't to be :( but I had nearly another two hours so I was on the water over four hours seeing a seal and hundreds of waders and then I had a stunning sunset as I packed up :) and I have managed at least once a month during 2013 :)
